I didn’t know my dream had come true until I walked through the doors.
As the owner of Wicked Bionic, a communications and advertising agency, I want to share a personal dream I’ve carried since 2018. My dream has been to have something we created on the walls of a library. It wasn’t something I ever truly imagined actually happening or thought about regularly. But this year, in 2025, my dream came true. It felt important to share. It’s been a year of several dreams quietly, unexpectedly manifesting.
I fell in love with the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) when we began working together in 2018, supporting several initiatives designed to ensure Angelenos have access to information and free resources that can change lives for the better.
One of those efforts includes the New Americans Initiative, which offers a FREE path to citizenship through the LAPL:
“We are working together with our community partners to bring important information to you about immigration and citizenship.”
In 2024, my agency updated the campaign’s creative in collaboration with the library. What I didn’t know at the time was that our ad campaign would eventually be displayed inside the library – right at the entrance of DTLA’s beautiful and historic 100-year-old Central Library. Not tucked away in the halls, but front and center, where everyone walking in can’t miss it. In the current climate, to me, that can’t be just a random placement.
This is why the Los Angeles Public Library has remained a beloved institution since 1872. They don’t shy away from standing visibly and publicly in support of the people they serve.
I didn’t know it had been installed until I walked through the doors for their celebratory June Jubilee event. Seeing it brought tears to my eyes. I felt overwhelming pride for the library and deep gratitude for the work we get to do together since 2018. Moments like this remind me why our communities matter, why our diversity matters, why we must take care of each other, and why I’m so darn proud to stand alongside LAPL.
These are the kinds of partnerships and projects that energize me and our agency. If you’re working on something where authentic connection and real impact matter, I’d love to hear about it. Contact me here.
