Los Angeles Public Library

New Americans Initiative

Services

Industry

Over a third of Los Angeles residents are foreign-born, with many navigating language barriers, economic hardship, and the challenges of starting over in a new country. Multilingual, family-centered resources are critical for helping immigrants—recent arrivals and long-term residents alike—feel connected and empowered.

OBJECTIVE
Increase awareness and engagement with the Los Angeles Public Library’s New Americans Initiative, ensuring immigrants and their families can access free education, citizenship resources, and multilingual support across the city’s most diverse communities.

IMPACT
By using culturally relevant creative and multilingual outreach, we’ve helped LAPL bridge access gaps, build trust, and deepen community connection across Los Angeles.
