CHALLENGE
The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) was operating with a legacy website that had become outdated, difficult to navigate, and overwhelming for users. With hundreds of pages and no clear path to essential services, residents and businesses struggled to access the information they needed—often leading to confusion and delays in service requests.
The site lacked modern functionality, accessibility features, and user-friendly design, limiting its effectiveness as a public resource.
SOLUTION
Wicked Bionic led a full UX/UI rebrand of the LADBS website (dbs.lacity.gov), transforming it into a streamlined, user-centered platform. The redesign focused on modernizing navigation, enhancing mobile responsiveness, and improving accessibility—including multilingual support—to ensure that all Angelenos could easily locate and interact with critical city services. The result was a more intuitive and inclusive online experience that reflects the city’s commitment to service and equity.
