Career Online High School

Services

Industry

In Los Angeles, nearly 1 in 5 adults lack a high school diploma or equivalent, putting them at a disadvantage for employment, higher wages, and economic mobility. Barriers like time, cost, and accessibility hit hardest for young parents, blue-collar workers, and multilingual families—leaving too many without a path forward.

OBJECTIVE

Increase awareness of the Los Angeles Public Library’s Career Online High School (COHS) diploma scholarship program and connect adults—particularly those facing the greatest barriers—to this free, flexible, and fully online educational opportunity.

Wicked Bionic worked collaboratively with LAPL to launch a citywide campaign that highlighted the program’s accessibility and inspired residents to see education as a new beginning—no matter their background or schedule..

IMPACT
Demand for the Career Online High School program soared. The campaign was so effective in its early years that it had to pause temporarily while scholarships caught up to demand. By emphasizing flexibility, accessibility, and real stories, we helped hundreds of LA residents reimagine their futures—earning diplomas and unlocking new opportunities for employment and economic mobility.
